A welcome addition to the town. Before the visitor center was built, there were no public restrooms. Now they have nice public restrooms, a very nice area museum, and even more important, public WiFi. It really is a nice facility, great friendly staff, and a fantastic resource to a cool little town.
Great information here about things to see and do. They have free maps from all the surrounding states as well as lists of local sites and places to eat. There is a small museum there as well with displays on local history. The restrooms were super clean.
Although I only saw two staff members during my visit, they knew their stuff! Not only were they able to recommend great hiking areas, but they described well how to get there AND knew the trails themselves.
After the breath taking switchbacks and views of Beartooth Pass We needed to stop for gas, restrooms, and a treat. Unlike most of the gas stations I’m used too there was no public restroom. So we ventured off for a treat.
Having been absent from the Cooke City/Silver Gate for north of 20 years, I found the Chambers Museum & Information to be Very Informative, Learnable and pretty well done and the entertainment value was There 😊😊👍 . I really Appreciated the explanation and Information from Donna! Very Enjoyable place.
